Pharmacologic Action

Pharmacodynamics: This product is a semisynthetic macrolide antibiotic specifically for animal use. It exhibits strong activity against Mycoplasma, with antibacterial effects similar to tylosin.

Spectrum of Activity:

  • Sensitive Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant strains), Pneumococcus, Streptococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipelas, Listeria, Clostridium putrefaciens, Clostridium pneumoniae, etc.
  • Sensitive Gram-negative bacteria: Haemophilus, Meningitis diplococcus, Pasteurella, and others.

It shows superior activity against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella, and Mycoplasma in livestock compared to tylosin. Notably, 95% of haemolytic Pasteurella strains are sensitive to this product.

Pharmacokinetics: Rapid absorption after internal administration with strong tissue penetration and a large distribution volume (> 2 L/kg). It achieves high concentrations in the lungs with an elimination half-life of 1-2 days, maintaining effective blood drug concentrations for extended periods.

Drug Interactions
  • When combined with epinephrine, this product can increase mortality rates in pigs.
  • It should not be used concurrently with other macrolides or lincomines.
  • Antagonistic actions have been observed when used in combination with β-lactams.
